A New Coalition: Led by TechNet

Advocating for pro-competition policies that put consumers’ entertainment preferences first.

Streaming has given Americans more entertainment options than ever before. It is just one of multiple ways programming is delivered today, but it is the fastest-growing and most consumer-friendly. Mobile viewing means fans can watch on their phone, tablet, or laptop — from anywhere at any time.

Streaming also plays a central role in bringing sports programming to wider, more diverse audiences across the country. Streaming provides multi-game viewing options, analytics-focused feeds, creator-hosted companion shows, and more — all contributing to a high-quality and personalized experience.

The Streaming Access and Choice Alliance (SACA) was established to engage policymakers and highlight the many benefits that streaming services deliver to consumers. Amazon, YouTube, and Netflix — three companies at the forefront of delivering best-in-class consumer and product experiences via streaming — are founding members. SACA will provide the industry and consumers a voice in Washington, D.C., advocating for pro-competition policies that acknowledge the ever-evolving landscape and put consumers and their entertainment preferences first.

Put simply,

Streaming provides audiences and sports fans more choice and more control. SACA makes sure Washington hears them.

  • Streaming reaches more Americans: More than 90% of U.S. households have a broadband subscription², while 36% subscribe to traditional pay-TV (cable or satellite³) and roughly 15% own only a digital antenna⁴.

  • Sports streaming is booming: Sports content has increased by 52% since January 2024 on major global subscription streaming services⁵.

Streaming services offer the freedom to choose how you watch live sports.

Viewers can find standard broadcasts, multi-game viewing options, Spanish-language and multilingual feeds, analytics-focused streams, or creator-hosted companion content.

Other features unique to streaming services include spoiler prevention settings, on-demand replays and clips, alternate camera angles, and multiple simultaneous commentary tracks — all contributing to a personalized fan experience.
